Designs the shape, hull and fittings of ships. Defines layouts, propulsion and draws up technical specifications, while ensuring safety and environmental optimisation.
Manufactures and repairs steel or aluminum structures, in the workshop or on board ships, in collaboration with other metallurgical professionals, with possible on-site travel.
First line of defence in shipbuilding or ship repair, they cut, shape and assemble the main parts of steel or aluminum ships, often working in teams and in a variety of environments.
Makes and repairs piping systems on board ships. Prepares and installs pipework components, working in workshops and on site, in coordination with other specialists, and sometimes in areas that are difficult to access.
Installs and maintains ships’ mechanical systems, including engines and propellers. Ensures commissioning and necessary repairs, often as part of a team and in coordination with other disciplines.
Designs and manufactures wooden furniture for ships, adapting to spaces to optimise layouts. Works in the workshop and on board, coordinating with other trades.
