News of the BSAM program supported by Kership

A look back at the program of four Metropolitan Support and Assistance Buildings (BSAM) supported by KERSHIP

For the record, the LOIRE and the RHONE, based respectively in Toulon and Brest, are Admitted for Active Service (ASA) and carry out various missions, such as recently the RHONE, which was part of the operation set up following the sinking of the cargo ship GRANDE AMERICA in the Bay of Biscay.

The SEINE has just left Toulon for its Long Duration Deployment, a three-month journey prior to obtaining the ASA.

And finally, the GARONNE, the 4th vessel in this program, has just left Concarneau, where it was built, to sail for the first time to its base port of Brest.

As a reminder, the BSAMs have a number of missions:

  • force support (e.g. nuclear submarine support)
  • regional support (e.g. wreck removal)
  • including the protection of people and property. (e.g. participation in sea rescue and environmental protection missions).
