On 3 November 2025, Oostende, the first mine countermeasure vessel of the rMCM programme, marked a historic milestone with its berthing in Zeebrugge for its official delivery. This industrial success validates Kership’s expertise and the strength of the partnership with Naval Group, Piriou, and Exail.
As prime contractor, Kership led the construction and technological integration of this next-generation vessel, coordinating expertise to transform this engineering challenge into an operational reality in service of the Belgian and Dutch navies.
A SERIES IN FULL ACCELARATION
This first delivery launches a sustained dynamic for the rMCM series:
• 9 vessels are currently at different stages of construction.
• Vlissingen (Netherlands) is in its final phase for delivery scheduled for February.
• Tournai (Belgium), the third vessel of the series, is actively undergoing sea trials.
A true command platform capable of deploying a complete drone system, Oostende allows crews to remain at a safe distance from danger (stand-off).
This programme confirms Kership’s position as a pillar of European naval cooperation.
