17 November, 2017 ‘LOIRE’ reaches home port in Toulon (France)

Launched on June 1st 2017  in Concarneau (France), the assistance and support offshore vessel (BSAH) 'Loire' is the first of a series of 4 multipurpose support vessels. 

Loire’ is dedicated to carry out several types of missions: support to forces (support and services to submarines, towing of the major vessels of the Navy), protection of persons and property (human lives saving, pollution response…) and support to districts (anchoring and mooring buoys maintenance works, buoys or wreck handling…).

The 3 other BSAHS will be named: 'Rhône', 'Seine' and 'Garonne'. Their homeports will be Toulon and Brest (2 in each French harbour).
