The offshore support and assistance vessel (BSAH) ‘LOIRE’, the first in the series of four vessels designed and built by KERSHIP, ordered in 2015, has just been officially handed over by the Direction Générale de l’Armement (DGA) on 22 March 2018.
Delivery of the second unit, the BSAH ‘RHÔNE’, whose first command ceremony was held in Concarneau on 23 March, is scheduled for summer 2018, and delivery of the 3rd and 4th units, ‘SEINE’ and ‘GARONNE’, for early 2019.
The success of this programme for the French Navy is the fruit of an ambition shared by PIRIOU and NAVAL GROUP to create a world leader in ships to civilian standards, primarily intended for government action at sea (coastguard, police, gendarmerie, customs, etc.) by leveraging their industrial complementarities.
In the space of just a few years, KERSHIP has become the leading supplier to the French Navy for vessels intended for State Action at Sea.
