Launching of the BSAH ‘Seine’ and departure of the BSAH ‘Rhône’ for Brest

As part of the four-unit program, the third Support and Assistance Vessel (BSAH) ‘SEINE’ was launched in Concarneau on 5 April in the presence of the Commander and his crew.

The second in the series, the BSAH ‘RHONE’ left Concarneau and headed for Brest, her future base port, on 6 April to continue the fitting-out phase.

The first BSAH, the ‘LOIRE’ was officially received by the DGA in March 2018 in Toulon, its home port.

The fourth unit, the ‘GARONNE’, is currently under construction in Concarneau.

Planned to be operated by the French Navy, they will be used for force support, regional support and maritime safety missions.
