PIRIOU AND DCNS JOINTLY WIN THE BSAH CONTRACT
The French defense procurement agency (Direction Générale de l’Armement – DGA) has selected the joint bid by PIRIOU, DCNS and KERSHIP for the supply and maintenance of four Offshore Support and Assistance Ships (BSAH) for the French Navy. KERSHIP, a joint-venture set up by the two naval partners, will manage this program, which includes two vessels in the firm tranche and two in the option tranche.
PIRIOU is responsible for the design and construction of the ships, which are highly versatile and have a 30-day autonomy. As co-contractor for the military studies, DCNS will supply on-board communication systems and will be responsible for maintaining the ship in operational condition for up to 5 years.
