The ‘Contre-Amiral Fadika’ delivered to Côte d’Ivoire

Livraison contre-amiral Fadika

The ceremony to transfer the flag of the CONTRE-AMIRAL FADIKA took place today in Concarneau (France). This patrol boat owes its name to Rear-Admiral Lamine FADIKA, who became the first Ivorian officer in the French Navy in July 1967, after passing the entrance exam to the Brest Naval School in 1964. Appointed Commander of the French Navy in 1970, he was promoted to Rear Admiral in March 1993.

The delivery of this vessel follows the signature by the Ivory Coast Ministry of Defence of a contract for the acquisition of a P400 offshore patrol vessel for the Ivory Coast Navy. The redesign of this patrol vessel was carried out by the PIRIOU NAVAL SERVICES (PNS) subsidiary with the support of KERSHIP’s teams. The contract also includes a training session for the crew in Concarneau prior to the vessel’s departure, as well as a two-year Operational Readiness Maintenance contract.
